The DRM copy protection crap is so extreme on this thing that it simply doesn't work 99% of the time. I really like the concept and the program but it just won't work most of the time....so screw it.

This game seems perfectly suited to we older gents who remember seeing these cars "back in the day" when they were first being raced. The sounds and handling characteristics seem authentic and it didn't take too long for me to get a clue as to how the basics work. Like many racing games you essentially have to start at the bottom with the slowest cars and a limited selection of tracks. I suppose this is a sensible system but I don't see what would be wrong with a simple "cheat" button to override this limitation. Heck if I want to scare myself with a Cobra where's the harm? There is probably a keystroke command that will do this but I have not found it yet. Note: when I attempted to install this game on my 6 year old tower running XP I found I did not have a good enough video card and was a little short on memory. It cost me $200+ to have the upgrades done. Make sure you either have the proper specs on your machine or are prepared to upgrade.

One of the more realistic games I've encountered for graphics, sounds, driving behavior, and such.

What a great simulator! Combine this with a Logitech G25 wheel and a Playseats "cockpit", and you have a simulator second to none. While I have only done a few races, I have done some "test drives" and they are AWESOME! Highly recommended, but you will need a software patch for Vista that is readily available from the manufacturer or on the 'net.

It's the perfect el cheapo response to a mid-life crisis. Remember all those great cars you saw but couldn't afford when you were a kid? Well, if you still can't afford a vintage Mustang or Alfa Romeo (and can't find an Austin Mini that still runs), you can simulate the feeling with this game. It's got a wide selection of cars and tracks -- with tons more from modders -- and runs beautifully on mid-level computers (now that it's a couple of years old, anyway.) It has a couple of levels where you can pretty much jump in and drive, arcade-style, working up to the top two of five difficulties that are a fairly rigorous simulation of herding a car with a huge engine and not much of a chassis around gorgeously captured road courses. The car physics are well-modeled (darting around a tight course in an underpowered Mini and trying to coax your Jaguar Mk II to keep the shiny side up on the same course is like two different games). There's a car setup screen that gets more important as you get more serious and a wide range of control and display options. A thorough video mode lets you watch a replay of between 13 and 120 seconds of your last lap, and automatically saves your "hot laps" on each course to relive your best trips. Sound is excellent (I recommend a subwoofer, particularly for the big-block engines ... wow). It could use better crash animations and you don't have enough choice in how you should level up to unlock cars and tracks (although the first three levels make an excellent lesson in the game, lacking only the name "tutorial"). You'll want better than a gamepad for control (good flight joystick or wheel). Great, great driving game.

For all Mustang lovers. At this manual I founded informations about my Mustang II, Guia 1974, that with then I`m starting one deep restoration process at Electrical system. Weak point:No information about the original collors. Thanks. Serrano-Brazil +5504188006474

Just what the title says. I can't believe amazon allowed the first guy's review. He needs to learn how to do research or graduate from high school :)Another great source for repair info is the yahoo! group- mustangiima. Use a search engine to find it then join up! Many knowledgeable people are on that list. Good luck with your II.

how the hell do i know if the information this book is what i want? what if this book only gives me the information i already know? meaning, it will only give half of the information, but not enough to finish the job.

This book is much better than Chilton's. Mustang II's are Mustangs too!!!

High Performance Mustang II's 1974-78 (Brooklands Road Tests) High Performance Mustang II's 1974-78 (Brooklands Road Tests)

Reviews

For any true Ford Mustang buff ('64 thru present), the mustang II was a series that was not looked at with favor. However, to the fans that do like Mustang II's, they are among their favorite mustngs. The ones most into Mustang II's are going to be the adults that were in their impressionable years in the mid 70's, when these cars came out. Without a doubt, the Cobra II packages are the favorite. I had a basic '78 hatchback with a warmed up 302, with Cobra engine dress-up parts, lower gears, shift kit, etc. That was a super fun car that saw plenty of drag racing action, I wish I still had it. Back to the book. The book serves as needed documentation for that Mustang series. Most all of the articles have been circulated in various magazines, but it was nice to have them in one volume. While the book is not outstanding, it does its job. If you are a mustang buff and are running slim on Mustang II info it is definitely a must buy, especially if found at a discount price. If you are a Mustang II enthusiast, there is probably nothing knew, but it is all in one book now. I had never seen the info regarding the how the V8 version first came out of Mexico; that made the book, to me. Others might like the Monroe Handler articles; I did not remember that engine being a stroker motor. If you are a late model enthuisiast and have no knowledge whatsoever of mustangs beyond the fox bodies, you probably would find the book worthless, as you probably would info regarding the original GT350's too.

Just reprints of old 70s articles. Nothing really that interesting unless you're turned on by dated archives.

It took a while for buyers to accept the Mustang II. It was nearly 12 inches shorter than the original Mustang, it was never available as a full convertible and it didn't have the performance of its illustrious predecessors...
